Government Procedures

（行政手続き）

After arriving in Japan, you should visit your local city or ward office to:

日本に到着したら、まずお住まいの市区町村役場で以下の手続きを行います。

• Register your address
  　住民登録を行う

• Join the National Health Insurance
  　国民健康保険に加入する

• Register for the pension system
  　年金制度に登録する

• Receive a My Number (personal ID number)
  　マイナンバー（個人番号）を取得する

These procedures should generally be completed within 14 days after arriving in Japan.

これらの手続きは、原則として日本入国後14日以内に行う必要があります。

To ensure a smooth process, please prepare the following documents:

手続きをスムーズに進めるため、以下の書類を準備してください。

• Residence Card
  　在留カード

• Passport
  　パスポート

• Proof of address (such as a rental contract)
  　住所が確認できる書類（賃貸契約書など）

• Personal seal (Hanko) – may not be required in some municipalities
  　印鑑（※自治体によっては不要）

After completing the procedures, you will receive:

手続き完了後、以下のものが発行・案内されます。

• National Health Insurance card (or eligibility confirmation)
  　健康保険証（または資格確認書）

• Pension number
  　年金番号

• Notification of your My Number
  　マイナンバー通知
